Because really? This is a golden opportunity for me! My kids prefer the waffles I make to the ones I stash in the freezer. And if my kids like 'em, your kids will, too! I hear they're going for $60/case on eBay. I'll sell you a full batch for half that. So place your orders now. I'll get you through this dire shortage. Pinky-swear.

It's weird how just hearing about the shortage made me want to run out and buy boxes and boxes of the things. Haven't eaten one in ten years, but HEY, they're going extinct!

Are they going totally away? Hadn't heard. Haven't bought those since I was in college, probably.
I make a double batch of pancakes and freeze the leftovers in a ziploc for Chas and the kids to use throughout in the next couple of weeks. I don't like the texture but the kids don't mind. Hadn't thought of waffles; I may have to order some Meggos. ; )

I kinda do fancy an Eggo from time to time... just toast and go, they're pretty good plain. But if it's a buttered, syruped waffle you want, ya gotta go with homemade. Oh, the yum!

It has been tough in the Broughton Household with out our Eggos. Please send Meggos right away!

What's this about a shortage of eggos? That news has not made its way down here under the rocks.
Leggo my Meggo would make a great T-shirt for Mr. Meg the next time y'all go to Vegas on a second or third honeymoon. Just as long as he isn't following his own T'shirt's advice.
The preceding jibberish brought to you by a long day of government tedium, a 100-mile RT commute, no caffeine and only a sip of wine.

I couldn't believe it when I heard! John told me about the waffle shortage and I was horrified. We too have started our own waffle house. We now have a stash of homemade (okay, from the Bisquick box) waffles...with blueberries, stored in our freezer. I have to say, making do with what you have has never tasted so good!
